It is Professor Franklin’s belief that holistic health is extremely effective because this modality addresses all facets of one’s life, not just the physical body. Her current practice in the greater Atlanta, Georgia area, combines her traditional educational background with her holistic training in Psychotherapy, Aromatherapy, Reiki, Reflexology, Empowerment, Energy Medicine, Holistic Life Coaching, and Stress Management. Lastly, Professor Franklin is the author of the humorous and empowering book I’m not Crazy, Just Menopausal, which provides a refreshing perspective about the wonderful phase of menopause. Her second book entitled Reflections of the Soul: A Memoir, which highlights her personal spiritual and metaphysical journey, was published in December 2016. She received the 2017 Author of the Year Award from The Writers Ball for her inspirational and motivational memoir. Also, she recently received the 2018 Media Award from Black Women In Jazz for Higher Consciousness, her radio show.
Jamela Franklin, Ed.M, M.A., is an accomplished Holistic Psychotherapist, Certified Aromatherapist, Certified Reiki Master, Metaphysician, Reflexologist, Energy Medicine Practitioner, College Professor, Holistic Life Coach, Radio Talk Show Host, and author. Ms. Franklin brings a wealth of experience and training to her current private practice in holistic health. Having completed her undergraduate education at Cornell University, she completed a Masters degree in Educational Administration at Harvard University and a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at Lesley University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Holistic Life Coaching at the University of Sedona.
In the field of education, Professor Franklin has held several positions. Currently, she is an adjunct instructor at Argosy University. The last senior administrative positions were the Associate Director and Director for the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Harvard University Medical School for 6 ½ years. After working in various positions in the field of education that ranged from teaching to senior administration positions for over l5 years, Professor Franklin realized that her career interests were expanding. Consequently, she decided to pursue a practice in holistic health, in addition to teaching at the collegiate level, due to her passion and unwavering commitment to empowering people on the spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and financial levels.
